Brazil’s Sept iron ore exports the highest since 2015

Brazil’s iron ore exports globally in September posted a remarkable year-on-year increase of 5.9 million tonnes or 18.5% to reach around 37.86 million tonnes, their highest since December 2015, according to the latest statistics from Brazil’s Ministry of Industry, Foreign Trade and Services. Compared to August, September’s exports were higher by a similarly large 20.8%.

Thus, over January-September, Brazil exported around 248.15 million tonnes of iron ore worldwide, with the year-on-year decline narrowed to 5.46%, according to the data. “The supply of Brazilian iron ore to China did increase significantly over the past month,” a Shanghai-based analyst commented.
